Two weeks in Newport for work but nicer than expected – Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, Bellevue, Cliff Walk, Fort Adams, and the waterfront.
One long day in Odawara and Hakone! Castles, trains, ropeways, cable cars, boats, and shrines!
Flower festivals all over! Sakura at Sankeien, Yokohama, Ueno, Shinjuku, Naka Meguro & Yoyogi park…. Hitachi Seaside Park nemophilia, Ashikaga Flower Park wisteria, Hitsujiyama Flower Park shibazakura, Fuji shibazakura!
Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, Songshan Culture and Creative Park, Taipei 101, Tamsui, Taipei Country Club, Hobe Fort, Fort San Domingo, National Palace Museum, Shilin Night Market, Elephant Mountain hiking, and way too much food!
Short trip to Taiwan – Lungshan Temple, Taiwan Democracy Memorial Park, Xindian, Bitandiao Bridge, Taipei Zoo, Zhinan Temple, Maokong, night markets, underground malls, and street food!
A post-marathon recovery stay in Shimoda, port of the black ships!
