Macau Day 2

Day 2 was spent visiting some of the more popular tourist sites...
It started with trying to catch the local bus.... I picked the right number bus however in the wrong direction, so I was made to get off after only 3 or so stops in the wrong direction, and had to get back on when it started going North again (I had to pay again too....)
Eventually I made it in the right direction and the first stop was Kun Iam Temple... supposedly one of the top three Buddhist temples in Macau
It was quite empty... and honestly did not seem that inspiring... but I'm not an expert here
Since I had my fill of the local bus system, I decided to walk back towards the Macau Museum. On the way, I stopped by a local grocery store just to check prices out of curiosity. Of course one of the first things to hit me where these evil gigantic durian! Ugh...
Spam is always a good baseline to compare to... the exchange rate at the time was about 7/1USD
And I try to picture what it would be like to live here
And here...
Made it to the museum.... I ended up not actually going into the actual museum because the map didn't seem that interesting. Instead I went to the rooftop or fort area to check out the view
The other side of the water there is mainland China. You could probably hit a golf ball from shore to shore it's so close.
As mentioned before, it used to be some kind of fort... that is the Grand Lisboa hotel again.
Ducked in out of the sun to grab some water from this little café
Café on the left
Ruins of St. Paul's is right next to the museum so that was the next stop
Just another touristy thing to see I suppose... only the front of the building remains
Little snack shops near the ruins
Pork chop bun, with (surprise) bone-in, and of course, a bubble drink
The good thing is, there are so many of these stores around offering free samples, I didn't have to buy any haha... couldn't take back to Japan anyway
The evil durian king
Probably the second most touristy area, Largo do Senado
Cool streets
Relaxed in the square for a while, then headed back to the hotel to rest
One of the fancier meals on the trip, Portuguese seafood rice at Temptations in the Starworld hotel. Recommended by CNN travel and very delicious. Only downside is that the waiter asked me which of four different types of water I wanted and I didn't know what he was talking about so I told him, just plain, clean tap water was fine hehe
At night I walked around the various casino's and major hotels. Couldn't take many pictures so these are what I have from lobby's and what not. People compare Macau to Vegas, and while a couple of the hotels are on par, I think it is far from being like the strip
I believe this was in the Wynn
One of the nicer hotels

To be continued!
