Yokohama Fireworks Festival

On August 5, 2014 I hopped on the Keikyu Line and headed up to Yokohama for their annual Fireworks Festival. This time of year has many festivals and I had just watched the Yokosuka Fireworks show the Saturday before. This trip to Yokohama was probably the most crowded of them all, from the train station all the way to Rinko Park where I watched the fireworks from. Tickets to enter the park were 2600 yen. I basically followed the crowd and kept pointing at my ticket to the volunteers to see if I was going in the right direction. In the end, the commute and the crowd were all worth it. This was by far the best fireworks show that I’ve ever seen. Over an hour of fireworks in total, and they do not hold back. The first half an hour seemed to be separate fireworks put on by different sponsors and then the actual show itself lasted the second half of the hour. My jaw was literally wide open during the final few minutes (see link below) and everyone was like, “Sugoi! Sugoi! Sugoi!” hehe. Enjoy the pictures and video below:
